IslandBlue Art Fair and Door Prize Goodies!

So yesterday I went to IslandBlue for their annual Art Fair. Love that event. Always have, always will. I love seeing all the products and demonstrations and meeting some new artist. Oh and then there’s the samples, freebies, and discounts. Heehee, I like spinning the wheel of discounts and getting 20% off. (I am the salesman’s dream… you’ll sucker me into just about anything… orz)

Yay, I got a free IslandBlue sketchbook! I really needed that too, since I’ve been mowing down my last few sketchbooks… I guess I draw a lot… (But I’m too shy or not ready go public and post them on tumblr yet.) The Bee sketchbook is really ideal for markers! It doesn’t bleed on to the next paper! 8w8 As for the sakura pigma sensei pens, I still have yet to try them out. I like the sakura micron pens, and they look nice in the demonstration… so I’ll find out when I get back into drawing on those illustration boards again. Hopefully soon.

This year I met an artist that worked with watercolor and she taught me so much! Like using a mop brush, bruising the paper to get the veins of a flower petal, the convenience of an alligator board vs a watercolor block. Aaaah, I so want to take her classes! She has such a nice style! Her name is Jessica Milne, and you can check out her website here: www.jessicamilne.com

And then today, after coming home from the Oak Bay Tea Party, I get a phone call from IslandBlue that I won a door prize. Yay! I love how this sketchbook is so big! And now I have a container to put my triangles and large paintbrushes! And yay, now I have a supply of pigma pens too! 8u8 I’m so happy~ <3
